Google Tech Talk
Hello, Google had organised a series of lectures on various topics. One of which is about photo technology. One could access all these lectures on youtube under the heading "phototech edu". There are around some 32 lectures. I was able to view only a few. I think some lectures are highly t...

Re: Slum Dog Millionaire..
Hi Param, Just read the ASC article on Slum Dog yesterday. Its a comprehensive article. They had given the workflow and also the cost of production. Ofcourse, most of them in this site would have read it. Contrary to what I thought and wrote, the production have also used 35 mm film (around 30% of t...

Re: HD anyone?
Sure, the development in digital is taking huge strides in a very short time. Infact, NHK has tested a 10K camera recently...and soon everthing would be available in the market and there is no end to what could be achieved. All said and done there is something where it would be difficult for digital...

Re: sad news
Another instance which comes to my mind is how he solved synching 7 RED cameras that we used to shoot the concert. Though RED cameras have 'Jam Synch' option to synch with other cameras, it had to be initiated everytime we switch of the camera, which means every time we change the battery or the fla...

Drop frames in RED
I was reading an article about how they had shot a music concert at Amesterdam using nine RED cameras. It was interesting to note that the team experienced technical difficulty of handling 'drop frames' due to the 'pressure' created by the speakers in the Auditorium (a procenium actually). They over...

Re: sad news
Yes Mandar, its indeed a great loss. Its extremely ironical that just last week I was discussing about Mr.Sridhar to Amala and how she wanted to work in Chennai. Even more ironical was the the news I heard from friends at his house today. Just last week, it seems he hinted retirement after completin...
