Re: The erstwhile Suruchi, now Cafe Kollage (or something)

Looks like Somnath Sen to me... but he's not your senior, not an ex-student

Re: sound dada?????????????

Well, come to think of it, I joined the Association of Film Editors (the official industry union) more than a year ago. So far, I have not received a single communication from them about anything. If they have a rate card, nobody has told me. I have no idea what activities they do, or even who the o...

Re: GHATAK WAS HERE

Hey, Amit Could you please register on the GraFTII Forums and also start this topic on that site? The more this gets known and discussed, the better. The situation is actually even more complicated. As far as I know, there is a court order which says that the FTII has to admit new students every yea...

Re: sound dada?????????????

I didn't realize this thread was still going strong! Param, my reply is even later than yours. I thought I had explained it already, but let me spell it out again. The Graftii card is not at all the same thing as an industry union card. Graftii is not a trade union. We are members of the FFI but tha...

Re: Delhi 6

No bad performances? Come on, Bakul. Abhishek Bachchan is pathetic. He doesn't look the part, doesn't speak properly and has only one stupid smirk on his face 90 per cent of the time. I think it really drags the film down to have the central character played so listlessly. The script was problematic...

Re: sound dada?????????????

I joined the editors' union, AFE, last year and the fee was 12 thousand including all deposits and extras. Also, they accepted the FTII diploma as qualification enough and admitted me as a full member. The sound guys are insane. People at Graftii have been trying to convince them for years now, but ...

Re: Ghajini

Hey, Antara The reason why people blame editors for the length of the film is because, actually, people are very unclear what exactly editors do. Something to do with cutting, right? So if it's too long, the editor didn't cut it enough! I haven't seen Ghajini (the thought of someone getting a water ...

Re: southern spice

I'm currently editing a Marathi film starring Jackie Shroff. We were told that he knows Marathi since he has lived in Bombay all his life. That's true, he does understand the language. In fact, Marath is quite close to Gujarati which is his mother tongue. But he is not used to speaking it and as a r...

Re: horrific times

Hi, Mandar I agree with you about hidden identities. Not nice at all in a place like this. But whoever 'stalker' is, s/he does have a point. It's better if you rent equipment from suppliers who are known and recommended by friends, especially when you're going outdoors. Within Bombay we're used to g...

looking for the site owner

Hi, all

This is a really nice site! I'm glad to be here - in a space dominated by people younger than me rather than oldies from the 1970s.

I want to contact the person/s who run this, but that information seems to be hidden! Please help...
