Schneider launches new Lenses

SCHNEIDER KREUZNACH launches new lens line for
cinematographers

Fixed focal length and compact dimensions – Schneider-Kreuznach’s new
Prime lenses are truly first class: they produce incredibly bright images,
offer excellent resolution and are extremely robust. The PL lens mount
system enables a quick lens change for 16 mm, 35 mm and digital film
cameras. Compared to lenses with a variable focal length, fixed focus
lenses take sharper images and provide improved light intensity,
especially for close-up shots.
The new Prime lens marks Schneider-Kreuznach’s strategic decision to
re-enter the premium image recording technology sector, an industry in
which the company left its mark for many years. The company is already
market leader in the sector for cinema projection lenses and has won the
“Technology Oscar” on several occasions. “We are proud to be able to
now offer the highest quality in image recording and are convinced that it
won’t be too long until lenses from Bad Kreuznach are used to make great
films once again,” explains Dr. Josef Staub, CEO of Schneider Group.
Lenses from the Prime series are available in five different fixed focal
lengths between 25 and 95 mm. Further focal lengths will be added to the
line in the near future.
These lenses were presented for the first time at the Broadcast India 2009 Exhibition, Mumbai.
