1. Call for Volunteers: Volunteer Orientations on March 17 and 31

IFFLA 2007 is looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of preparation and on site organization leading up to and during this year's Festival, which runs April 17-22 at ArcLight Hollywood, an elegant, state-of-the-art facility at Sunset and Vine in Hollywood. This year's Festival promises to be an eclectic and exciting event that includes approximately 40 features, shorts and documentaries, Bollywood By Night screenings, a Tribute to an acclaimed Indian filmmaker, Family Focus, informative workshops, and a bevy of networking opportunities.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience first hand how a film festival comes together and to interact with a diverse group of filmmakers whose films will be featured. Plus there will be opportunities to see some great films for free!
For more information about volunteering, please read our Volunteer Guidelines. You will also need to download the Volunteer Application and email or fax it to us or bring it with you at one of the Volunteer Orientations.
We will be having 2 orientation meetings for all the volunteers which will give you an opportunity to meet the staff and get a quick run down of each department.

2. Job Openings at IFFLA 2007
Transportation Coordinator Assistant
Works closely with the Galas Producers to secure music and dance performances at Opening and Closing Night Galas.
Liaises between the Festival and the Gala venues and handles technical logistics in collaboration with the venues' technical directors.
Secures artists for Asian Grooves n' Moves, a program of dance and music performances at the ArcLight Hollywood Courtyard, open to the public.
Works closely with the marketing department to ensure artists' exposure at the Festival
Work experience in the music industry is a plus.
Theater Managers
IFFLA has openings for two Theater Managers during the festival event April 17-22.
Theater Manager duties include:
Managing of all theater volunteers
Crowd control prior to theater opening
Ticket taking, balloting, head count
Monitoring the post screening Q&As
Coordinating last-minute rush tickets sales with the Festival Will Call
Act as point of contact with Arclight Events staff regarding technical and maintenance issues
Oversee tally of audience award ballots
Candidates should be friendly, outgoing team leaders available to work weekday evenings and all day weekend during the Festival dates. Ideal candidates are able to work well under pressure, have experience in working as Theater Managers for other festivals, and in supervising others, be capable of addressing conflicts and other difficulties as they arise with a manner of calm professionalism and diplomacy.
There is a compensation for this position.

IFFLA 2007 will mark the fifth year anniversary of our organization! In honor of this landmark year, we have expanded the Festival, making IFFLA 2007 a 6 day extravaganza (April 17-22, 2007). The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) was established in 2002 as a not-for-profit organization devoted to promoting a greater appreciation of Indian culture by showcasing a selection of films from or about India by Indian and international filmmakers as well as films that reflect diverse perspectives of the Indian Diaspora. In addition, IFFLA continues to spotlight works by Indian filmmakers that cross boundaries to tell compelling stories of a global perspective.
