Red Epic Offline Online Workflow

Post by Paramvir Singh »

We are shooting something on Red Epic + Phantom.
Its a complex mixture, firstly because of the fact that we have a very tight schedule for post (5 days in call) and secondly because of the enormous volume of data that is NOT compatible with FCP. To add to the worries, Phantom doesn't record time-code.

Will post the workflow and any learnings here.

Meanwhile take a look at Oliver Peter's solution for such a workflow.

Using the RedCine-X Pro, you can convert the Epic files as QuickTime Pro Res files.

Choosing the debayer pattern as 1/2 Good for all three resolution settings provided a fast an usable conversion for offline use only.
