SOCAL INDEPENDENT
FILM FESTIVAL

Huntington Beach, California - USA
September 5 to 9, 2007

The SOCAL INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL strives to provide a unique outlet for art, culture and entertainment through movies, while granting rewards to filmmakers in the form of awards, lodging, software, gear, memberships, press and distribution. The awards packages have a total estimated value of $25,000.

Just this year, the Festival was named one of MovieMaker Magazine's festivals "Worth the Entry Fee," a coveted and respected distinction. With a focus on quality filmmaking, the SoCal will have an estimated 70 Official Selections in 2007.

Recent SoCal winners include filmmaker Jason Ipson, whose UNREST premiered in 2006 at SoCal and went on to receive worldwide distribution in theaters and retail stores, through Lionsgate. BINTA Y LA GRAN IDEA, the 2006 Honorable Mention, was nominated for an Academy Award this year in the Short Film Category.

SoCal jurors and screeners are distributors, agents and producers within the entertainment industry. Past participants include Barnholtz Entertainment, Warner Bros. / Atlantic, G5 Entertainment, Sharon Smith Talent, Ascendant Pictures, Rogue Arts, AEI, Metropolitan Talent Agency and more. Thus, just submitting to SoCal puts your work in front of some top industry professionals.
