Its a matter of immense pride for all FTII'ians & audiographers from India, and a great achievement that Mr.Resul Pookutty(FTII,SRSE-1995) has been nominated for the film Slumdog Millionaire for the Cinema Audio Society awards (CAS,Usa) which is a society of 550 best audio technicians from the world and which nominates and awards best achievement in Sound mixing in the motion picture and television industry irrespective of nationality from around the world in the preceding year.
He also has been nominated in the category of Sound Mixer for the British academy of film and television arts (BAFTA) awards for Slumdog Millionaire.......Both these awards one of the highest awards in the field of sound and i think this is the first time that a Indian has been nominated on a world platform like this....
Oscar nominations are yet to be announced ,am sure they are in the offing too...
Wishing him all the luck for the awards....Cheers
