Specific Characteristics The winner of the short film competition automatically qualifies for the OSCAR competition for the Best Short Film.
Evaluation The most important festival for US independent productions. The section "World Cinema" is dedicated to foreign films and offers an opportunity to discover new talents. For foreign fimmakers the "World Cinema Audience Award" offers a platform to the US market. 2005 the festival initiated a competition section for foreign films as well.
Accreditaton fees for industry representatives are rather high. Especially foreign productions require intense press and marketing activities.
