Mumbai International Film Festival

“Dear Friends,

Mumbai, the financial and film capital of India suffered the worst terrorist attack from the 26th evening to the early morning of 29th November, 2009. Some of the iconic land marks like the 100 year old heritage hotel Taj Mahal Palace and Victoria Terminus Railway Station were attacked. About 200 people, including foreign nationals, security personnel and mumbaikers died and about 400 people were injured in this heinous, vicious and sophisticated attack on this economic nerve centre of India.

While the city is limping back to normalcy, there is concern among a lot of people, including eminent film personalities around the globe about the happenings in Mumbai.

Keeping in view the concern of all our friends and supporters from around the world, MUMBAI ACADEMY OF MOVING IMAGE has decided to postpone the 11th Mumbai Film Festival to be held from the 19th to 26th of February, 2009.

We will inform you of the new dates of the Festival.

We look forward to your understanding and continued support to the International Film Festival in Mumbai.

Best regards,
Shyam Benegal                                                     Srinivasan Narayanan
Chairman                                                                  Festival Director
